Key takeaways

  • Claude accounts are individual, so teams should use Team or Enterprise plans instead of sharing logins.
  • Consumer users choose whether chats train models, while commercial plans are excluded by default.
  • Claude can create PowerPoint files, apps as artifacts and websites you deploy yourself.
  • Claude has no avatar, and its interface is a chat window with an artifacts panel.
  • Agentic AI emerged in 2023 and reached mainstream products in 2024 and 2025.

Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant, used through a personal or business account on the web, desktop, mobile and API. Common questions concern sharing accounts, privacy and training, and whether Claude can build presentations, apps and websites. I build AI products with multiple providers, such as RAG.NextUpgrad, so this page covers account sharing, using Claude without an account, data storage, training, tutorials, PowerPoint, apps, websites, Claude's interface and when agentic AI arrived.

Can you share a Claude AI account?

No, not under Anthropic's terms. Accounts are for individual use, and sharing login credentials is not permitted. For teams, Anthropic offers Team and Enterprise plans with separate seats, shared projects and admin controls.

Shared accounts also mix conversation histories, memory and preferences, which creates privacy problems: anyone with access can read your chats and files. They can also trigger security checks or suspension. If family members or classmates want access, each can create a free account. For collaboration, share specific outputs, such as published artifacts, or use a Team plan's shared projects, where colleagues work with the same files and instructions without sharing a login.

Can you use Claude AI without an account?

Not on claude.ai or the official apps, which require signing in. However, Claude models are available inside other products, such as GitHub Copilot, Notion and some AI aggregators, using those services' accounts instead.

Developers access Claude through the Anthropic API, which needs an Anthropic Console account and API key, or through cloud platforms such as Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud Vertex AI using existing cloud accounts. Creating a Claude account is free and needs an email or Google sign-in, plus phone verification in some cases. Be cautious with unofficial sites claiming free Claude access without accounts, since they may misuse your data or not actually use Claude.

Where is Claude AI data stored?

Anthropic stores consumer data on major cloud infrastructure, primarily in the United States. Organisations needing specific regions can use Claude through Amazon Bedrock or Google Cloud Vertex AI, which offer regional deployment options.

Your conversations, uploaded files and settings are stored so you can access your history across devices, with encryption in transit and at rest. Anthropic's privacy policy and help centre explain retention periods, which depend on your settings, deletions and safety reviews. Enterprise plans add controls such as custom retention and audit logs. If you handle regulated data, review your organisation's policies and the relevant data processing terms before uploading sensitive information.

Does Claude AI train on your data?

It depends on your plan and settings. For consumer Free, Pro and Max accounts, Anthropic lets you choose whether your chats can be used to improve models. Commercial products, such as Team, Enterprise and the API, are not used for training by default.

You can change the setting in Claude's privacy settings at any time, and it applies to new and resumed chats. Conversations flagged for safety review may be handled under separate policies. Feedback you submit, such as ratings, may also be used. Anthropic's updated consumer terms describe the details, including how retention differs depending on your choice. For sensitive work, use a commercial plan or the API, and avoid uploading confidential data you are not permitted to share.

Is there a Claude AI tutorial for beginners in PDF?

Anthropic does not publish an official beginner PDF, but its documentation, help centre, free courses on GitHub and interactive prompt engineering tutorial cover everything a beginner needs, and pages can be saved as PDFs.

A beginner path: create an account, try writing, summarising and analysing a document, then explore Projects for repeated tasks, artifacts for documents and code, and connectors for your apps. Learn basic prompting: give context, state the goal and format, and provide examples. Developers can then follow the API courses to build their first application. Be cautious with unofficial PDFs, which may be outdated given how quickly features change. Practising on real tasks teaches faster than reading.

Can Claude AI make a PowerPoint presentation?

Yes. Claude can create and edit files, including PowerPoint presentations, Word documents and spreadsheets, which you can download. It can also build HTML slide decks as artifacts or write presentation outlines and speaker notes.

Describe the audience, purpose, number of slides and style, and provide source material, such as a report to turn into slides. Review the result for accuracy and design, then refine it in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Canva. Claude handles structure and content well, while brand-specific visual polish often needs final touches. For data-heavy slides, upload spreadsheets so Claude can build charts from real numbers. Availability of file creation depends on your plan and settings.

Can Claude AI make an app for you?

Yes, at different levels. In claude.ai, Claude can build interactive apps as artifacts, such as calculators, dashboards or games, that run in your browser and can be shared. For full applications, Claude Code writes, tests and edits complete codebases.

Also asked as: can claude ai make an app for me

Simple tools can be built entirely through conversation, describing what you want and iterating on feedback. Production apps need more: a clear specification, version control, testing, security review and deployment to hosting. Non-developers can get surprisingly far with artifacts, while developers use Claude Code to move faster on real projects. Whoever builds it, review the code, protect secrets and understand what the app does with users' data before sharing it widely.

Can Claude AI create websites?

Yes. Claude can write complete websites in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, preview them as artifacts, and build larger sites with frameworks such as Next.js through Claude Code. You then deploy them to hosting such as GitHub Pages, Vercel or Netlify.

Give Claude the purpose, pages, content, style references and audience, and ask for responsive design and accessibility. Iterate section by section, checking the site on mobile and desktop. For SEO, ask for semantic HTML, meta descriptions and structured data. Claude cannot buy domains or host sites itself, so deployment is your step, though Claude Code can run deployment commands you approve. Always review generated code and test forms and links before launching.

What does Claude AI look like?

Claude has no human appearance or avatar. Its interface at claude.ai is a clean chat window with a message box, a sidebar listing chats and projects, and a side panel for artifacts. Its logo is an orange starburst.

The desktop and mobile apps follow the same design, with options for light and dark themes. When Claude creates documents or code, they appear in the artifacts panel beside the chat, where you can view, copy, download or publish them. Claude Code looks different, running as a command-line interface in your terminal or as panels inside editors such as VS Code. Voice mode adds spoken conversation on mobile and desktop.

When did agentic AI come out?

Agentic AI emerged in 2023, when projects such as AutoGPT and BabyAGI showed language models chaining actions toward goals. It reached mainstream products in 2024 and 2025, with features such as Claude's computer use, OpenAI's Operator and coding agents like Claude Code.

The underlying ideas are older: AI research has studied agents for decades, and the ReAct paper in 2022 showed how language models could combine reasoning with tool use. Anthropic introduced computer use in October 2024, letting Claude operate a desktop, and released Claude Code in 2025. Since then, agent features have spread across assistants, developer tools and enterprise platforms. The technology is still maturing, with reliability and safety improving with each model generation.
