Key takeaways

  • Artifacts are standalone outputs, such as code, documents, web pages and diagrams, shown beside the chat.
  • AI-powered artifacts are small apps that can call Claude themselves, with usage counted against each viewer's account.
  • Run Claude in the terminal with Claude Code, Anthropic's agentic coding tool.
  • Claude's usage limits work on rolling session windows plus weekly caps on some plans; the app shows reset times.
  • In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Claude excels as a flying archer: Wyvern Lord and his unique Barbarossa class.

Claude artifacts are substantial outputs, such as code, documents, interactive web pages, diagrams and small apps, that Claude creates in a dedicated panel beside the conversation, where you can view, edit, iterate on and share them. Anthropic introduced them in 2024. I build AI products and prototype interfaces with assistants daily, so this page covers how artifacts work, AI-powered artifacts and expiry, Claude in the terminal, Claude versus Aider and Airtable, usage limits, and, for gamers, Claude's best class in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

What are Claude artifacts?

Artifacts are self-contained pieces of content Claude creates that appear in a separate window next to the chat: code files, Markdown documents, single-page websites, SVG graphics, Mermaid diagrams and interactive React components.

They are meant for content you want to use or keep refining, rather than conversational replies. You can ask Claude to update an artifact, view earlier versions, copy or download it, and publish it to share a link. Typical uses include building calculators, dashboards, landing page drafts, study tools, data visualisations and documentation. They make Claude useful for quick prototyping, since you see working results immediately.

How do Claude artifacts work?

When you ask for something substantial and standalone, Claude writes it as an artifact, and the app renders it in a sandboxed panel: code is displayed, web pages and React components run live, and diagrams render visually. Each edit creates a new version.

You iterate in conversation: "Make the chart a bar chart" or "Add a dark mode toggle", and Claude updates the artifact. Artifacts run in a restricted environment, so they cannot freely access the internet or your files, which keeps them safe to open. You can publish an artifact to get a shareable link, and others can view or remix it. For larger projects, move the code into a real repository and continue with proper tools.

What are Claude AI-powered artifacts?

AI-powered artifacts are artifacts that call Claude themselves while running, turning them into small AI apps: a flashcard generator, a writing coach or a game with an AI character. When others use a shared AI-powered artifact, usage counts against their own Claude account, not the creator's.

You build them by describing the app to Claude, which writes an artifact that sends prompts to Claude through a built-in interface and displays results. This lets non-developers create and share AI tools without managing API keys or hosting. They suit prototypes and personal tools; for production apps with many users, custom data and reliability needs, build with the Claude API in your own application.

Do Claude artifacts expire?

Artifacts do not have a fixed expiry; they stay within their conversation as long as the conversation exists, and published artifacts remain available at their link until you unpublish them or delete the source, subject to Anthropic's policies.

If you delete a conversation, its artifacts go with it. To keep important work safe, download or copy artifact code into your own files or a repository. Artifact features and sharing options change over time, so check Anthropic's help centre for current behaviour. For anything you rely on, such as a tool your team uses daily, keep your own copy rather than depending on a chat history.

How do I use Claude in the terminal?

Use Claude Code, Anthropic's agentic coding tool: install it, open a terminal in your project folder, and run claude. It can read your codebase, edit files, run commands and tests, and make commits, asking for permission before actions.

Also asked as: how to claude in terminal

Getting started:

  • Install Claude Code using the instructions in Anthropic's documentation.
  • Run claude inside your project directory and sign in.
  • Ask it to explain the codebase, fix a bug or add a feature.
  • Review proposed changes and approve commands.
  • Add a CLAUDE.md file with project conventions it should follow.

It also integrates with editors such as VS Code and JetBrains IDEs, and runs in Anthropic's desktop app.

Claude vs Aider: what is the difference?

Claude is a family of AI models and Anthropic's apps, including Claude Code for the terminal. Aider is an open-source terminal tool for AI pair programming that works with many models, including Claude, GPT and local models, editing files in your Git repository.

The fair comparison is Claude Code versus Aider. Aider is model-agnostic, lightweight and commits each change to Git automatically, which suits developers who want to switch models or use local ones. Claude Code is built by Anthropic for Claude models, with deep agentic features such as running tests, subagents, hooks and integrations. Many developers try both; choose by preferred models, workflow and how much autonomy you want the tool to have.

Claude vs Airtable: how do they compare?

They are different kinds of tools. Airtable is a cloud database and spreadsheet-style platform for organising records, building views and automations. Claude is an AI assistant that reads, writes, analyses and reasons. They complement rather than compete.

Common combinations: use Airtable to store structured data such as leads, content calendars or inventory, and Claude to analyse exports, draft content from records, write formulas or automation scripts, and design base structures. Claude can connect to tools like Airtable through integrations and connectors where available. Airtable also has its own built-in AI features. Pick Airtable for the system of record and Claude for thinking and writing work.

How do Claude AI usage limits work?

Claude's apps limit how much you can use within a time window, based on factors such as message length, attached files, model choice and conversation length. Limits reset on a rolling session basis, and some paid plans also have weekly limits.

Also asked as: how does claude ai limit work

Long conversations use more of your limit, because Claude rereads the conversation each turn. To stretch limits: start new chats for new topics, avoid re-uploading large files, use projects for shared context, and choose lighter models for simple tasks. Paid plans offer more usage, and the API is billed separately by tokens. Anthropic's help centre explains current limits for each plan.

When does the Claude limit reset?

When you reach a limit, the Claude app shows the time your usage resets, typically within a few hours, because limits work on rolling session windows. Weekly limits on some plans reset on a weekly cycle.

Also asked as: when claude limit reset

If you hit limits often, check whether long conversations or large attachments are using most of your allowance, and consider a plan with higher limits if Claude is central to your work. For developers, the API has separate rate limits by tier. Planning heavy tasks, such as large codebase changes, early in a session window helps avoid interruptions.

What is Claude's best class in Fire Emblem: Three Houses?

In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Claude von Riegan, leader of the Golden Deer, is strongest as a flying archer. Wyvern Lord suits him before the timeskip, and his unique Barbarossa class, unlocked later, combines flight, strong stats and his Hero's Relic bow, Failnaught.

Also asked as: fe3h claude best class

Train his bow and flying skills early, and consider authority and lance for flexibility. Barbarossa is widely regarded as his best class, since flying mobility lets him reach enemies anywhere on the map while avoiding counterattacks. This Claude is unrelated to Anthropic's AI, but the name collision means search results often mix the two.
